CIO magazine has a long list of outsourcing trends that it believes will sweep — or continue to sweep — the coming year, with security, the cloud, and vendor relationships taking center stage. The threat of breaches may cause companies to be more careful about the providers they work with as the Internet of Things presents new vulnerabilities and regulators “exact increasingly large fines for poor security.” In terms of the public cloud, they see a wider adoption of Amazon rivals like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform as clients look to diversify their options. And perhaps the best change will be a vendor move from “one-sided terms” towards lower and friendlier agreements while they try to increase market penetration.
