American Airlines Adds Two NY-Costa Rica Services

American Airlines has announced the addition of two new flights between New York and Costa Rican, serving the capital San José and Liberia on the Pacific coast, aiming to capitalize on the rising US tourist numbers visiting the Central American country.

Daily flights from New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport to San José will commence on November 21, with once-weekly services to Liberia, capital of the country’s Guanacaste province, on Saturdays, and which are slated to begin on December 21.

Liberia is the major stopping point for tourists traveling to the Pacific coast beaches of Guanacaste.

The routes will operate as follows:

JFK-SJO: Departs New York daily at 15:59 and arrives at 21:42, and departing San José at 23:03 and arriving in New York at 05:19.

JFK-LIR: Departs New York on Saturdays at 07:00, arriving at 10:55, and departing Liberia at 11:04 and arriving in New York at 16:59 hours local time.

American Airlines is also planning to fly daily from New York to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Antigua from November.

In addition, the carrier will start running daily flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to San Juan, Puerto Rico, in addition to seasonal flights to San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador.

The airline has also begun flights to Aruba.
