Deloitte Acquires Mexico’s Dextra Technologies

U.S. professional services provider Deloitte Consulting has acquired Mexican IT firm Dextra Technologies, further bolstering its technology services business in Mexico.

The acquisition particularly enhances its product design and software engineering capabilities, the skill sets enjoying high traction in North America.

Deloitte is not new to Mexico, where it is already running more than 20 offices, offering services such as application maintenance, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and IT consulting.

In early 2017, Deloitte unveiled a mega delivery center in Queretaro, saying it is hopeful of leveraging Mexican tech talent.

Deloitte’s senior executive Kevin Prendeville said in a press release that his company would soon build “market-leading” product engineering transformation capabilities.

With more than 350 IT professionals, Dextra designs, builds, and tests embedded software solutions. Most of its clients are based in the U.S. and operate in industries such as automotive, consumer, and life sciences.

Founded in 1997, Dextra Technologies is headquartered in Monterrey. It runs delivery centers in Guadalajara and Aguascalientes as well. Following the deal, all the employees of Dextra will join Deloitte Consulting.
