HCL Tech Acquires Zeenea for $26 Million; Aims to Improve Data Portfolio

Indian IT services giant HCL Tech acquired French software provider Zeenea in a US$26 million deal.

Founded in 2017, Zeenea offers an intelligent data discovery platform that supports metadata management, including data cataloging, governance, and compliance solutions.

“Metadata management is vital for our customers to fast-track their GenAI journeys,” said Kalyan Kumar, Chief Product Officer at HCL Tech.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Zeenea will be integrated into HCLSoftware, HCL Tech’s software division.

The French firm’s expertise will enhance HCL’s ability to deliver unified data intelligence solutions, allowing clients to better harness their data in both data engineering and GenAI endeavors.
