What Are the Benefits of Nearshore Nexus? Attendees Share Their Experience

The annual Nearshore Nexus conference has always been essential for both outsourcing service providers and service buyers. It exhibits all the benefits that Latin America offers and offers on-the-ground analysis of how nearshoring can affect their business models and partnerships.
At this year’s event, held in San Francisco from May 11-12, Nearshore Americas was sure to capture some of this to share the attendee experience with those who were not fortunate enough to make it to the Bay Area.
Many got tangible networking benefits from the event. “It is important for us to seek partnership with new companies and find new business opportunities,” said Gabriel J. Apodaca, CEO and president at NearShore Technology, one of the fastest-growing technology firms in Mexico.

Toby Eduardo Redshaw, CEO of Kevington Advisors, said the event offers a great opportunity to build a network of contacts. “Fantastic engagement… real dialogue, not just talking,” he said. “Here, I find people with deep knowledge about the industry sharing their innovative ideas.”
Guillermo Gonzalez King, executive director of Mexico IT, agreed and noted the wide participation from people all over the region. “The opportunity to expand your network of contacts is greatest takeaway in terms of attending this conference,” he said. “This is also a place where you can know the promotional activities by Latin American countries.”

Luis Ojeda, senior manager with Deloitte, says the event offers what he calls “practical” conversation with people inside the industry. “We have a lot of service providers here and they have a lot of knowledge about the industry and they represent different countries.”
Doug Hoffschewelle, chief sales and marketing officer at Qualfon, was one active participant who used his time to shed light on an under-discussed nearshore location. “Many people don’t know much about Guyana,” said Hoffschewelle. “It is in South America, not in Africa. For years, Nearshore Nexus has helped us make people aware of Guyana and educate them on business opportunities there.”
One of the fastest growing BPO providers in the region, Qualfon is expanding rapidly in the United States as well. Its BPO facility in Guyana is one of the biggest in the world, and it won the first annual Nexus Illuminate award for company of the year.
