NTT Data Expands Further in Latin America, Opens New Delivery Center in Costa Rica

Japan’s IT services giant NTT Data has expanded to Costa Rica with the launch of a delivery center in San José. The Tokyo-based firm will hire more than 100 people and participate in a job fair being organized by the country’s investor promotion agency CINDE.
“The addition of the Costa Rica center strengthens the company’s ability to respond quickly and efficiently to client needs,” said NTT Data in a press release. “The new center will offer an employee-friendly campus with career advancement and skill development opportunities.”
NTT Data is not new to Latin America. It made its first foray into the region in 2011 when it bought Italy’s Value Team SpA, which operates in several countries in Latin America. Furthermore, the Japanese firm is already running several delivery centers in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Three years ago, it acquired a majority stake in Madrid-based Everis for $509 million, further bolstering its operation across the Spanish-speaking market, including Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and Brazil.
As a subsidiary of NTT Data, Everis provides a wide range of IT services including business and strategy consulting, application development, systems integration, and outsourcing. But the San José center, the company’s first in Costa Rica, will provide a full range of application services for healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing clients in North America.
“Collectively these centers form a global delivery network providing both custom and standardized application and business process services for global and regional clients,” said the Japanese firm.
“Costa Rica offers the right mix of well-educated, English-speaking talent, and time-zone proximity to enable the highest levels of flexibility and agility,” said Amir Durrani, executive vice president of global delivery for NTT Data.
