TCS Bulks Up in Arkansas, Hiring 200 More Staff

Indian IT services giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its Arkansas operations, adding 200 employees to its delivery center in Little Rock.

The expansion is part of a contract with insurance company Transamerica to help revitalize IT infrastructure.

“More than 200 former Transamerica employees now work for TCS at this Little Rock facility, as part of TCS recruiting and protecting more than 2,200 Transamerica jobs across the U.S. in multiple locations,” the company said in a statement.

Under the agreement, the IT provider will enhance Transamerica’s digital capabilities, helping it simplify the service of more than 10 million policies into an integrated modern platform.

The Indian technology company already has offices in Bentonville, Arkansas, which has 150 employees.

In recent years, TCS has hired nearly 1,000 new employees for its other delivery centers in the US as part of its US$2.5 billion contract with Transamerica. It also rebadged 1,000 Transamerica employees in Iowa in April.

The Indian company will also expand its goIT education program to Little Rock, under which it trains young people in app development and design thinking.

Also in the offing is a plan to bring its Ignite My Future in School program to Arkansas, providing free professional development and resources for educators to integrate computational into core subjects.
